I created this video in 2021 to accompany the publication of Michael Blanding’s “In Shakespeare’s Shadow: A Rogue Scholar's Quest to Reveal the True Source Behind the World's Greatest Plays” —which was originally titled, “North by Shakespeare.” Blanding, an investigative journalist and the New York Times bestselling author of The Map Thief, began as a skeptic of the theory. But he has now become a fellow collaborator and Thomas North scholar. After his North/Shakespeare book was published, he wrote an article for Literary Hub explaining what had convinced him that North wrote the plays that Shakespeare later adapted.
