No, he hasn’t been joking or just trying to own the libs.
No, he’s not just playing to the most savage of his blood-thirsty base.
If Trump wins, he will go after his political opponents—or, to use his own language, he will take out “the enemy within.” He will use his Justice Department and any other federal agency at his disposal to investigate, arrest, and/or try people like Liz Cheney, Adam Kinzinger, General Mark Milley, Alexander Vindman, and dozens (if not hundreds and perhaps even thousands) of others who have refused to kneel before him. They will be investigated for any possible crime that he and his henchmen can dream up—from tax evasion and campaign finance violations to treason. If possible, he will even use military tribunals—so his alleged enemies can’t escape his retribution through a jury trial. And what is more, many millions of Americans who have so enthusiastically joined his malignant dominance hierarchy will cheer him on.
We know Trump is planning a modern-day purge of his enemies because he has been explicitly stating this repeatedly over the last two years. In June of this year, on TruthSocial, he “retruthed” an angry, all-cap post calling for the prosecution of Liz Cheney by a military tribunal. For treason.
